I have been unsuccessful at getting past sp_OACreate under SqlServer 2012. The same sproc works on a SqlServer 2008 box.
EXEC @hr = sp_OACreate 'Chilkat.Crypt2', @crypt OUT results in -2147221005 for @hr.
Callig get error: EXEC @HR = sp_OAGetErrorInfo @crypt, @Source OUT, @Description OUT;
results in @Description being "Invalid class string".
I have checked the registry, the clsids are there. I even edited permission on crypt2 and crypt2.1 adding full control to everyone. I also verified the DLL's folder has everyone read/exec permissions.
I am at a loss here.
See the online reference documentation for the correct strings to pass to sp_OACreate. See http://www.chilkatsoft.com/refdoc/xChilkatCrypt2Ref.html
The search query serves as a digital archive of a community's collective trauma. While the internet occasionally treats the folder as a mythical piece of dark web trivia, the Reddit meta-discussion largely serves to remind users of the real-world destruction behind the digital files—and the permanent legal consequences for anyone foolish enough to seek them out.
The folder's legend began at a school in . According to local accounts and recurring Reddit threads:
A 2022 post in r/Denmark asked: “Hvad er Viborg Mappen? Nogle nævner den i kommentarer.”
In March 2015, Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi (the Mid- and West Jutland Police) issued a public advisory warning young girls "for Guds skyld" ("for God's sake") not to take intimate selfies, as they could end up in the Viborg Mappen.
The files reportedly contained intimate, suggestive, or completely nude images of young girls, many of whom were minors (under 18) at the time the pictures were taken. viborg mappen reddit
Today, Reddit users discuss the folder with a mix of nostalgia for "old Danish internet culture" and a modern understanding of its harmful nature:
According to a highly upvoted (but unverified) comment on r/TrueCrime:
If you are looking to research further or participate in community discussions, what specific aspects of the Viborg case are you trying to analyze? I can help look into the , provide information on digital safety organizations , or point out how Reddit policies handle historical cases . Share public link
This is the question Reddit loves to debate. The search query serves as a digital archive
Because the file was actively suppressed by Danish police, many younger Reddit users treat it as a myth or a piece of internet lore. Threads under the keyword often feature users asking: "Did it actually exist, or was it a Danish urban legend?" Older users and locals consistently chime in to confirm its reality, noting that the folder disrupted the lives of countless girls during their primary school years. 3. The Fight Against Active File Links
For those included in the folder, the digital footprint remains a source of long-term trauma.
On Reddit, when modern cases of non-consensual image sharing or "hævnporno" (revenge porn) occur in Denmark, users invoke the Viborg Folder as the historical benchmark for how bad these leaks can get. It is widely recognized on the platform as one of the largest and earliest coordinated distributions of leaked images targeting minors in Danish history. 2. Debunking Urban Legends
The Viborg Mappen began circulating as a featuring young girls and teenagers from the municipality of Viborg, Denmark. According to local accounts and recurring Reddit threads:
According to discussions on Reddit, "Viborg-mappen" is a mythical or legendary file folder alleged to contain illicit imagery, specifically involving underage individuals in the Danish city of Viborg.
If you need further help (e.g., how to report content, how victims can get support), let me know and I can provide specific Danish helplines and Reddit report pathways.
On threads within r/Denmark, users frequently ask whether the folder actually existed in the massive scale rumored, or if it has evolved into a Danish "vandrehistorie" (urban legend). While the physical folder and subsequent police investigations were very real, the internet has mythologized it. Commenters often note that while "everyone talked about it, very few actually saw it," as the data was quickly pushed to dark corners of the web or private torrent trackers. 2. Recurrent Resurfacings
It is so that a future version of the ActiveX can co-exist with older versions. You've heard of DLL hell, right? The current naming of "Chilkat_9_5_0." has not changed for several YEARS. Eventually, Chilkat will do a major update to rid itself of all deprecated methods and make long-needed changes which break backward compatibility. When doing so, the name will change -- this will make it so that new programs can use the new version WITHOUT breaking existing older applications.
What about 9.4.x? Did it use the Chilkat.Crypt2 naming? If so, is there a download for it?
