A report from August 2024, which announced a new monster for "next version 0.4" (likely a version close to 0.4.0.0), teased the addition of a new "Oni" (Japanese Ogre/Giant) monster unit. The Oni is described as a melee attack type that wields a greatsword and is born through crossbreeding between Orcs and slaves. This detail highlights the game's deep breeding system, where different monster types can be combined to create new units with unique abilities.

The interface has been reimagined from the ground up. Gone are the nested, confusing menus of v0.3.x. The new “Recipe Book” uses a radial-pie menu system (nodding to the team’s name) that learns which tools and items you use most frequently. It’s intuitive, fast, and surprisingly beautiful for a mod project.

The v0.4.0.0 update introduced a major new element to the game: . The Oni is a powerful, large-sword-wielding melee attacker bred from Orc units and slaves . This addition represents a significant expansion of the game's strategic possibilities, adding a formidable front-line unit for players to utilize. The update also prompted discussions about new features, such as invasion systems and special animations.

Every offensive action overworld carries strategic consequences. Pillage missions generate , which replaces the old automated wave timers. High Infamy dynamically triggers retributive enemy counter-raids on your home base. This allows players to dictate their own pace; aggressive expansion yields more resources but demands a robust home defense.

The game's primary challenge involves building up forces to either defend a base or attack enemy villages. The new real-time system creates a sense of urgency as waves of enemies approach, requiring players to position their units effectively.

Buried deep in the patch notes is a cryptic entry: “Enabled hidden interaction sequences for three legacy NPCs.” Community data miners have already discovered that interacting with a specific baker NPC in the second hub city while carrying a “Pocket Pie” item unlocks a fully voiced side quest—something the original game never supported.
