Born Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba on July 13, 1956, in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo, Koffi Olomide is a colossus of African music. After studying mathematics in France, he returned to Kinshasa and joined Papa Wemba's legendary band, Viva La Musica, before founding his own group, Quartier Latin International, in 1986.
